Almost as soon as we post an overview of why Xbox Game Pass offers great value, Microsoft announce a price hike! In this blog we cover what the Xbox Game Pass price increase means, when it takes effect and how you can still get value for money.
Xbox Game Pass Price Increase
Xbox Game Pass is now so popular that the recent announcement of the Xbox Game Pass price increase hit BBC news.
The price of Game Pass for PC is going up from £7.99 a month to £9.99 a month. The price of Game Pass Ultimate is going up from £12.99 a month to £14.99 a month.

Whilst the Game Pass price increase will be a blow to many gamers, our method to get Game Pass cheaper still works.
You can buy gift cards for game pass from from Amazon or CDKeys, with the latter being entirely digital so you can get online with Game Pass instantly.

Xbox Game Pass Price Increase Reflections
Yes, this price increase is a disappointment. Even though the gift cards remain a cheaper way to purchase Game Pass, it’s likely they will increase in price over time.
No one likes paying more for the same product, however Microsoft have been keen to present this price increase alongside announcements for new games coming soon. The highlight of which is the next edition of the ever popular Call of Duty series, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Black Ops 6 will be a day one release on Game Pass, with members getting access on the release day, 25th October.
For me, I still think Game Pass is a great deal if you regularly use it. I’ll be buying the gift cards when the weather looks bad a for a couple of weeks and I don’t have much planned, or there is a game coming out that I like the look of. It’s still a lot cheaper to buy a month’s membership to play a game you like than purchasing outright, especially if you won’t play for more than a month.
